Excess and deposit: what's the difference?
The deposit
An amount from 590 € to 2 660 € depending on the car, blocked on your bank card at key handover and released on return if there is no damage. It is shown before you book.
The excess
What you actually pay in case of a claim. It ranges from the vehicle value (basic) to 1 100 € (Protection Plus), or zero with Full cover.
The right choice
For long journeys, city driving or when several people drive, Full cover saves you from any unpleasant surprise.
In case of an accident or breakdown

Which insurance is included in the rental?
Every rental includes basic cover. In case of damage or theft, your liability (excess) can be up to the value of the vehicle.
What is the difference between Protection Plus and Full cover?
Protection Plus limits your excess to 1 100 €. Full cover removes the excess: you pay nothing for covered damage.
Does the deposit depend on the protection I choose?
The deposit depends on the vehicle (from 590 € to 2 660 €). It is blocked on your bank card at key handover and released on return if there is no damage.
Can I add protection at the agency?
Yes, you can choose it online when booking or ask for it at the agency before key handover.
Car rental insurance in Tunisia
Renting a car in Tunisia with Hoppa Rent a Car means basic cover on every rental, whichever agency you choose: Tunis-Carthage, Enfidha, Monastir, Djerba or Hammamet. With this cover, however, the excess can reach the value of the vehicle.
To drive with peace of mind, two extra protections are offered when you book: Protection Plus, which caps your liability at 1 100 €, and full cover with no excess, which covers you completely. The price is simply added to the daily rate and shown before you confirm.
