The rules that apply to every Hoppa Rent a Car rental, at all our agencies in Tunisia. Simple, with no surprises.
The main driver must have held a valid driving licence for at least 2 years. For some vehicle categories this period may be longer; if so, it is shown when you book.
Only drivers named on the contract may drive. A second driver can be added for 1 £ per day; they also show their licence and an ID document at the agency.
You book online without a bank card. You receive a confirmation by email and WhatsApp once our team has checked availability.
The rental is paid at the agency on the day of pick-up. The price shown when you book is the price you pay, including the extras you chose.
You book a vehicle category: the model shown or a similar model in the same category, with the same number of seats and the same gearbox.
A deposit is blocked on the main driver's bank card at key handover. The amount depends on the car, from 504 £ to 2 273 £, and is shown before you book. It is released when the vehicle is returned without damage.
Cancellation is free up to 24 h before pick-up. To change your dates, agency or car, contact us with your booking number on +216 22 023 647, by WhatsApp or by email.
Return the car with the same fuel level as at pick-up. With the "Full tank" extra (34 £), you can return it without refuelling.
Every rental includes basic cover: in case of damage or theft, the excess can be up to the value of the vehicle. Two protections reduce it:

At Tunis-Carthage, the car is handed over at the Hoppa desk in the arrivals hall. At Enfidha, Monastir and Djerba, an agent waits for you at the terminal exit with a sign bearing your name. In Hammamet, we can also deliver the car to your hotel.
A vehicle inspection is carried out with you at pick-up and on return. You can return the car to another agency by choosing "Return to another agency" when searching. Let us know if you are running late.
The vehicle must be driven in accordance with the Tunisian highway code, by a driver named on the contract. It may not be sublet, used to carry paying passengers or goods, or driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Fines and penalties incurred during the rental are payable by the driver.
